Outgoing Exchange Program

There are two kinds of exchange program in NCCU, which are university-level (OIC) and college-level (College of International Affairs, CIA). For exact regulations, please refer to the offices' announcement/brochure. This is a brief introduction for Outgoing Exchange Program in English version.

Scholarship Holders

Normally, international students receiving a scholarship from Taiwan may not apply for exchange. If you would like to apply the exchange program, please check the terms of scholarship whether you are eligible. 

Timeline

University Level College Level

Those who wish to participate in this program should pay attention to the announcement of the release of the admission brochure on the official website of the Office of International Cooperation (OIC) at the beginning of each semester (September/ March).

The admission screening is usually in every May and December. The exchange university list could be found in the exchange program admission screening system and the admission brochure per semester. (The exchange program admission screening system: https://nccuoic.nccu.edu.tw/)

The application period is at about October for spring semester and April for fall semester, all information is subject to the announcement of College.

Administrative Process of University

Students that are accepted as exchange students shall enroll in NCCU and pay the tuition fee, thereby maintaining their student status in NCCU during the overseas study period; the acceptance will be canceled if (1) students do not have NCCU student status, (2) they temporarily suspend their study at NCCU, or (3) have already graduated from NCCU.

Students applying for courses at foreign universities shall submit "NCCU abroad enrollment application (出國選課申請單)" and get the signature/stamp from director, dean, and several offices. The application form should be generated by iNCCU. *Students shall complete the application process prior to the faculty endorsement and withdrawal phase of the semester abroad.

  1. NTD 5000 security deposit 
  2. Financial Statement
  3. Copy of passport
  4. Current Semester Student Status letter (certificate of enrollment) (If the exchange university asks for other foreign language version, please translate it and submit with the English version one together.)
  5. English transcript
  6. Certificate of language proficiency
  7. Physical examination
  8. Reference letter(s)
  9. Proof of recommendation
  10. Study plan
  11. Course selection sheet
  12. Photograph

Check List Before Departure

  1. Visa
  2. Insurance: NHI/abroad insurance/etc. (International students who have joined the outgoing exchange student program are eligible for suspending National Health Insurance coverage and get a refund on your insurance. (Contact OIC))
  3. Accommodation: Dorm, local rental, etc.
